Let’s Talk About Death, Baby

by D.L. Kline

Since my last book was an in-depth look at the illusion of death, I guess I should take some time to discuss it here.

First and foremost, death as we know it here on earth is a complete illusion. When your physical body stops functioning and can no longer sustain an earth life, the real you, your soul, if you will, simply leaves that body and quickly and painlessly goes home. Or to the other side, or to another dimension, or to whatever you want to think of as the afterlife. I prefer to think of it as home, because it’s the place we come from and the place we always return to. It’s the place where all our friends and family live when they are not reincarnated for an earth life. It’s also the place where we spend a lot of time and effort planning out our earth lives to get the most benefit from the brief time we spend here each life.

The most FAQ about death is same one that is asked about life. Why? Why do we do it? Why do some people die so young? Why do some people die horrible slow deaths? Why do some people die horrible fast deaths? The quick and easy answer is that we do it for learning purposes, sometimes our own, and sometimes for the edification of our friends and family. Anyone who has reached middle age has surely had a fair number of deaths in their circle. If you can remove the emotion from all those experiences, (not an easy thing to do, I admit), you will be able to see that they taught you lessons of compassion, trust, patience, and understanding. All the things most of us come here to work on, rolled up in a bundle surrounding a “death”.

I could write an entire book about this, and, in fact, I did. It’s available at Amazon.com, and described on this website. So it’s hard to condense this very large subject down into a blog post. Let me just add that our lives at home are eternal. That means there are no endings, so another one of the reasons we incarnate here is to experience what an ending would feel like, and how we would cope with not having an unlimited amount of time to do whatever it is we want to do.

One of the other big reasons we want to experience death here on earth is to learn to overcome the huge amount of fear we attach to death and dying while incarnated. You plan your death just as thoroughly as you plan your life before you incarnate, and all pain stops the moment you transition to the other side, so there is no logic in being afraid of dying.

Last, but certainly not least, a few words about hearing from your loved ones that have transitioned.

Organized religion teaches that once people “die”, they are consigned to either heaven or hell, based on the judgement of their lives by some angry, vengeful god. Either way, they are never to be heard from again. Nothing could be further from the truth. The other side is constantly trying to teach us how the universe works by sending spiritual teachers like Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay. They also send amazing psychic teachers like my hero, Sylvia Browne, and more recently, Theresa Caputo and Tyler Henry. Though their messages may vary in tone, they all boil down to one thing: We are eternal beings, and we can greatly improve the quality of our earth lives by tapping into the help available to us from the other side.

To sum it all up, I will borrow a quote from the person who first said,” we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience”.

I wish you love and light ’til next time!
